A Guide For Small Business Owners
By André le Roux
You CAN get quality logos cheaply But you have to know what to look for. Pre-designed logos is probably the best "cheap logo design" option for most businesses. Pre-designed logos are pre-made, with something like "Company" or "Company Name" where the company name should go. When you buy a pre-designed logo, the designer redraws it with your company name in place and presto. You're done. For under $100. Under $100? The Biz-Logo.com pre-designed logos start from $95.90. That's as cheap as you should go - and there's a good reason for that. Designers calculate the price of their pre-designed logos based on how much time they spent creating it. Really talented, experienced designers can make stunning logos in under an hour, but their hourly rates are high. If it costs less than Biz-Logo.com's $95.90 logos, I'd personally skip it. Besides, it's your IMAGE! Let's do the math. You spend a modest $500 per month on marketing. You spend it wisely and you get great milage from those ad dollars. Your business grows. Your ad budget increases by 10% per year. Ten years down the line you realize that the $20 logo you bought when you started out just doesn't represent your company. It's probably costing you sales because it messes up your credibility. By that time you'd have spent $95,614 burning that crappy logo into people's minds. Better to get it right - right from the start. Watch out for... 1. Rediculously low prices. Cheap logos like the pre-designed logos discussed above are fine. Rediculously cheap logos ($50 and less) make you wonder what they're not telling you. 2. Template logos are logos that are resold. When you buy it, the designer keeps it on the site and it's still for sale. Pre-designed logos like the ones at Biz-Logo.com on the other hand are sold once. You'll save a couple of bucks buying a template logo, but I wouldn't want to share a logo with a bunch of other companies. 3. Color depth. The more colors, the more it will cost when you take it to the printers. 4. File types. Biz-Logo.com keeps your logo on file - in case you ever need another copy of it or you need it in a different format, a different size, on a different color background etc. Watch out for companies that limit the number of formats you receive your logo in. It's no good having a logo that only work on your site but looks terrible on your business cards. Have a question? Feel free to ask. I can't promise to answer every question, but I promise to try. andre[ nospam ]@pandecta.com
